Quarterly(ish) update on the Twins!
A little overdue on this one – it’s been two quarters since the last update. I have a good excuse – we moved in July. So apologies on the delay I’ll try to keep on schedule moving forward!
Ok so we’ve now got two 15 month olds. Lenny began walking about 3 months ago and is borderline running. She’s getting better with inclines/declines as well, but is still fairly cautious on uneven ground. Aggie had pretty much no interest in walking on her own until about a week ago and will now take a few steps. She’ll be faster than Lenny in no time is my guess. I personally think she’s like her Dad and concerned only with efficiency. “Why walk when I can crawl three times faster?”
Lenny is pretty independent and will snuggle with you briefly, but mostly just wants to be doing her own thing. She likes patrolling the new house and really loves going through Mom’s makeup drawers. She has about a dozen words she’s saying, her favorites are “Go” and “All Done”. When we’re doing anything that slightly scares her – like running the vacuum - she’ll say “All Done” pretty much right away and it’s pretty stinkin cute.
Aggie is a bit more of a social butterfly, wanting to be doing something with somebody more often than not and rumor has it she’s got a boyfriend at daycare. I mean, I thought I’d have till like 2030 or so before I had to put on the Scary Dad routine to any potential suitors. Guess I better practice up now. Her favorite place in the whole world is the tent which is setup in the playroom. It’s padded in there but Dad needs to learn to pay attention anyways! Don’t worry – she’s fine. Dad’s isn’t though – she brought a toy broom into the tent and swung it wildly when I was not on high alert and caught me squarely on the right eyeball. Went to the Optometrist and things look ok initially at least. I’m sure it won’t be the last time I am injured by one of them!
We lucked out with an in home daycare about 10 minutes away from our new place and the girls are going there 4 days a week. They seem to be enjoying it - it’s rare when they fuss at drop-off. Mimi still takes them on Wednesday’s and Daddy Day Care will return on Monday’s next summer.
Twins most recent stats:
They’ll be 16 months on Nov 1st already, and we’ve crossed the 5% completion mark on raising them (if you consider 25 years fully raised). 95% to go.
